MediBabble contains thousands of translated questions and instructions. Each phrase
included in MediBabble's database was written and reviewed by a panel of physicians supervised by Dr. Lawrence Tierney,
Professor of Medicine at UCSF School of Medicine and author of the seminal text on evidence-based history-taking.
Thoughtfully organized by system and symptom to facilitate both comprehensive and
targeted medical history-taking. Step quickly and logically through a history of present illness; past medical history;
social, family and medication histories; and a review of systems; all for over sixty common chief complaints across
eleven organ systems.
A thorough physical exam section allows clinicians to give patients clear and detailed
instructions on positioning and exam maneuvers. Also included are culturally-sensitive explanations of what to expect
from more personal or invasive elements of the exam.
Once downloaded, MediBabble requires absolutely no network connection to function.
MediBabble is fully functional in resource poor areas without internet connectivity, as well as in commonly shielded
environments, such as hospitals, emergency rooms and radiology suites.
MediBabble is currently available in five languages — Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin,
Russian, and Haitian Creole — with more coming soon. Spanish comes preinstalled, with the remaining languages
available as free in-app downloads. MediBabble allows you to switch easily between languages at the touch of a button.
An in-app slide show gives step-by-step instructions on how to use MediBabble,
including its hidden features. Available near the bottom of the home screen, the guided tour can be played at any
time and is updated whenever MediBabble adds new functionality.
For those patients with hearing difficulties or in prohibitively noisy environments,
turning your iOS device to landscape mode will enable a full-screen display your selected phrase in large text.
